sigh of relief Sunday

Mum was much cheerier today. Although still wanting to go home and chuntering loudly about being stuck on the 'senile' ward, there was no unpleasantness directed at me or lovely daughter and she smiled a lot. She seemed much better orientated to time and place and was happy to chat about things other than her stay in hospital. Her nurse said she was eating fine and had a good sleep earlier in the afternoon but a urine test had indicated a water infection (which might explain yesterday's paranoia?). The doctor will be informed tomorrow so mum should get some medication to sort that out. Fingers crossed mum will still be in a good mood tomorrow.

The kitchen is finished! (sorry about the fuzzy mobile photos, they look better when clicked on)

Can you spot an old feature, subtly changed?

The bladder infection could explain a lot. Seniors tend to get more confused from them. I'm glad they were able to diagnose and treat that.

Your new kitchen is lovely! Congratulations!

Sink & washer moved over to the left?

Thanks Rilera! Its a much more welcoming place now and there's more cupboard and worktop space!

Emily, you're right about the sink and washer, both in much better positions - the sink in front of the window and the washer more 'built-in', but I was thinking of something else......
Clue - more floor space too.....

Well...the table's moved back?

Re narcissists...since I grew up with some...that's what hurts, the person's inability to "see" you. For a child, it's like being erased or having no valid existence or something.I think that erasure is the heart of all abuse, the part that does the deepest damage.

yes the bladder infection could explain a lot. glad she was smiling. :-))
the kitchen is LOVELY. is it that the table is now smaller and less in the centre giving you more room?

Emily - you're so right, being the invisible daughter is so hurtful.
Absolutely right Annie and Clippy! The table was originally round but took up too much room so two of the sides were straightened. Then the other two sides went and hey presto - no more squeezing past!
